  • By 2004, greater bandwidth and faster speeds for transfer of Web based information will bring multimedia, music and other technologies into the average users home.
  • Some disillusionment with the Web and backlash against it will result in a greater emphasis on obtaining results for Web site developers.
  • Greater emphasis on providing useful content and value to site visitors will require more
    dialogue, interaction and establishment of
    communities based on interests.
  • Shift from broadcasting (same content to
    everyone) to narrowcasting (content geared to special interests) to unicasting (customization of content for individual visitor).
  • Greater use of personal agents that seek and sort information and of push technologies, which send specific information directly to user.
  • Greater use of intranets, extranets and the
    Internet for business transactions and internal
    communications    Easier to access and publish Web sites (network computer and personal server)
  • Everyone has a home page integrated with other media, television and telephone so that use of the Web is transparent and nearly instinctive.
